Norton Quantum Prime grinding wheels feature nanocrystalline ceramic grain
Saint-Gobain Abrasives will introduce Norton Quantum Prime grinding wheels at IMTS 2022. They feature new, proprietary nanocrystalline ceramic grain for productivity in a variety of applications, the company reports. The grain delivers high grinding efficiency and part quality, as well as long wheel life, according to the manufacturer.
The company also will showcase Norton IDeal-Prime ID grinding wheels for precision applications, also featuring the Quantum Prime nanocrystalline ceramic grain will be showcased. The microfracture properties of the grain and the retention capability of the advanced bond help ensure long wheel life, grinding efficiency, and consistent part quality.
Also to be highlighted is a new Abrasive Process Solutions program that helps customers determine the most optimal grinding or finishing technology for the application at hand, from simple to complex, off-hand or automated, and for metal fabrication, production grinding, and nearly any abrasives operation. The program draws on the knowledge of the Norton team, along with access to 30 different machines and a new APS robotic automation cell, the core of the program. The team provides abrasive process development, optimization, automation, and in-house testing.
