Ernest Industries to close Michigan plant

Ernest Industries Co. has announced the closing of its metal stamping plant in Westland, Mich. Layoffs began Oct. 15. The closing eliminates 70 jobs.

The company, which also has plants in Plymouth, Mich., and Monterrey, Mexico, manufactures metal stampings, welded assemblies, mechanical assemblies, and tubular products.
