FABTECH 2024 Preview: Flap discs designed for demanding applications

The PHAZER and Alushark flap discs were designed for applications that demand specialized coated or non-woven abrasives.

The PHAZER non-woven flap discs are suitable for surface preparation on metal, concrete, plastic, fibreglass, and wood. They can remove surface defects, light edge burrs, parting lines, flashing, rust, oxides, corrosion, paint, and scale. The discs are available in Type 29 with a 7/8-in. arbor in diameters of 4 ½ in. and 5 in., and in coarse, medium, fine, and extra-fine grades.

Alushark is a load-resistant flap disc for grinding, blending, and finishing on aluminum and non-ferrous metals and is particularly appropriate for work on aluminum ships and work boats. These wheels are available in Type 27 and Type 29 in both 4 ½ in. and 5 in. The 4 ½-in. discs also are available with a 5/8-in.-11 arbor.
